Resumo: In a time of limitless AI innovation, we stand on the brink of remarkable technological progress. Over the past year, we have seen the emergence of potent generative AI technologies, which have raised a host of questions about how we use AI. These questions touch on ethics, legality, and their broader impact on society – all important aspects we need to take into account. In this seminar, we'll explore concrete examples that give shape to the current landscape of AI, showcasing how they are making a dual real-world impact. Additionally, we'll delve into the efforts underway to help the world prepare for this latest technological revolution we are witnessing.

Ricardo Santos Bio:
Ricardo Santos is an MSc in Biomedical Engineering from FCT NOVA. Since 2018, Ricardo has been a Researcher of the Intelligent Systems group at Fraunhofer Portugal AICOS. His main interests are the application of Artificial Intelligence to real-world settings, especially in healthcare. He has worked in areas such as indoor location, fall detection, diagnosis and prognosis. Currently, Ricardo is pursuing a PhD in Biomedical Engineering, focusing on improving the robustness of Machine Learning and Deep Learning to asynchronous and missing inputs.
