Title: LabLinking for remote experiments. A use-case for remote motion synchrony.

Resumo:

Typical experiments leverage continuous recordings of participants' speech, motion, brain activity, and other processes, resulting in a variety of high-dimensional biosignals. These experiments are often complex, as these include a range of elements, such as signals, setups, devices, approaches, methods, models, and research questions. Considering the
variety of elements, it is sometimes hard to find laboratories that have access to all of them. In fact, many laboratories focus in specific contexts and scenarios, having reduced options limited by the available hardware and software. In order to cope with the possible limitations of physical laboratories and allow new experimental designs, there is a new paradigm, developed by the Cognitive System Labs from the Universität Bremen, called LabLinking [1]. This system envisages experiments without borders, referring to interconnecting people in spatially distributed labs, who participate in joint experiments while sharing a common task, breaking typical limitations of physical lab experiments. There are several layers of lab interconnections. In this presentation, we will bring a few examples where LabLinking is currently being used, and focus on one use-case for the study of remote human motion synchrony.
