The Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology has recently approved funding for the TwinCare project: AI-Driven Digital Twins for Clinical Decision Support in Osteoarthritis and Hyper-User Primary Care.
This project is led by Professor Ana Rita Londral and will be developed in collaboration between the Value for Health CoLAB, NOVA.ID.FCT, Nova Medical School, the National School of Public Health, the Almada-Seixal Local Health Unit and Glintt Healthcare Solutions.
TwinCare aims to create a Digital Twin technology aimed at supporting clinical decisions and optimizing care pathways in two target groups: patients with hip and/or knee osteoarthritis and frequent primary care users. Analytical and predictive models that integrate clinical data will be developed with the aim of personalizing healthcare, anticipating outcomes and improving the efficiency of resources in organizations and the healthcare system itself.
