Boron-containing compounds chemical reactions triggered by low energy electron interactions
 
In this seminar the approved FCT project entitled “Boron-containing compounds chemical reactions triggered by low energy electron interactions” is presented.
In the present project we propose to study low energy electron interactions with boron-containing compounds. A crossed molecular beam set-up will be assembled with time of flight reflectron mass spectrometer. The developed trochoidal electron monochromator allows an electron beam with high energy resolution (~80meV FWHM). These studies contribute for a better understanding of underlying mechanisms at molecular level, of different boron containing molecules. Boronic acids have been shown to have excellent performing in medicinal and pharmaceutical applications. It is our goal to understand physical-chemical reactions triggered by low energy electrons.
