Across Europe and the World, there are major experimental facilities involving Brilliant X-ray Sources (Synchrotron) and Neutron Sources which we are able to use for free to support our research. Such facilities do not exist in Portugal.
Portugal is, currently, one of the eight priority/selected countries benefiting from the NEPHEWS project https://beamtime.eu/ which supports Portuguese researchers and engineers who use (or aim to use) synchrotrons and neutron techniques (members of ENURS and NeMPo, and all the Portuguese scientific community beyond these associations).
The International Meeting “The Future of Portuguese Science at Large-Scale Research Infrastructure beyond NEPHEWS Project”, https://conference.fct.unl.pt/e/ScPTNEP aims to discuss the perspectives of scientists and engineers of large-scale research facilities beyond NEPHEWS project.
