IAedu, the digital service of the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), to be developed by FCCN, takes a significant step in its mission to democratize access to Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Higher Education and Research in Portugal, integrating four new reference models into its platform.
Still in its beta version, IAedu now offers the OpenAI GPT-5.2, DeepSeek V3.2, Claude Opus 4.5 (Anthropic), and Meta's Llama 4 Maverick models. This update represents a greater diversity of tools and approaches, allowing students, researchers, teachers, and technical teams to choose the model that best meets their learning and development needs. In the case of professors, it is also possible for them to create their own personalized agents.
The artificial intelligence models available on the platform may be updated or replaced over time, according to their performance and market evolution, ensuring that IAedu always maintains the most relevant and effective solutions for the community.
For API access, IAedu currently maintains the GPT-40 model, guaranteeing stability, consistent performance, and compatibility with existing integrations. The evolution of models available via API will be evaluated in phases, ensuring a balance between innovation, reliability, and quality of service.
IAedu is the AI tool ecosystem whose mission is to promote equitable, secure, and efficient access to artificial intelligence models for the Higher Education and Research community in Portugal.
The service guarantees confidentiality and compliance with data protection standards, as the content submitted by users is not used to train or improve AI models, ensuring responsible and ethical usage practices.
IAedu is currently in beta, meaning that the user experience and available features may evolve over time. This approach allows us to gather community feedback and adjust the service to the real needs of institutions and users, ensuring continuous improvement of the platform.
Access to the service is simple and immediate via https://iaedu.pt/pt. If your institution has already joined IAedu, users simply need to log in with their institutional credentials and start exploring the chat and available templates.
